reference sheet - Bill Morgan

Who can read my writing? I certainly can't.

Right, so I've finally drawn up some reference sheets for my little domestic ruminant pals, stars of That One Visual Learning Tool I Had To Do Last Year and That Illustrated Rant At Moffat.

This is Bill, and you can blame him for the illustrated rant (it took me forever to draw but came out of his mouth...I have a Chapter 13 relationship with these characters and they're stupidly autonomous ). Bill started life as a scribble of a sheep in a woollen jumper when I was learning sheep husbandry back in first year. He was also sort of a stud ram at the time? It didn't last long, because soon after I discovered all those papers on asexuality in rams and thought that was really adorable so it stuck.

Generic black-faced sheep for the win? Since designing him I've gone looking at actual sheep breeds and I think you could make someone like Bill out of a Drysdale and a Norfolk Horn, so yeah.

Bill's a quiet sort of guy, sort of anxious (he carries himself shorter than he is and almost always holds his arms bent at the elbows and wrings his hands without noticing) but very easy to get along with. He's a big nerd and he loves people. He's the one who talks Sam down when Sam gets hysterical or overdramatic (even though that comic for uni needed much larger words than Bill would ever use the roles there were true to form...Sam's a hypochondriac and Bill's the sensible, logical one). He can be pretty sensitive, but he's the sort of person who hides all of his negativity and just withdraws into himself. Which isn't all that healthy but I can't really criticise because I do the same :/

He loves plants and food and science and is studying agriculture so that he can get involved in pasture management stuff (good god that is so boring I can't even). He's really organised and hard working, so I'm sure he'll do brilliantly.

As I said, Bill's also asexual and aromantic and (with Sam propping him up and encouraging him) pretty proud and vocal about the whole thing. Bill and Sam come as a package deal, they are queerplatonic bros forever They had one rough patch where Sam was dating a real dickhead who was jealous and refused to wrap his head around their friendship, but he was an ace-hating, biphobic piece of crap and we don't talk about him :/

BILL IS A DORK. HE HAS LOTS OF DORKY SHIRTS. HE HAS A MILLION DIFFERENT ONES WITH THE TARDIS ON. And he has been known to cosplay the Fifth Doctor. And he's the proudest Hufflepuff you'd ever meet.
